Who we are

Edward Lim is the founder of Kaʻala Automation, a company born from his belief that small businesses deserve the same tools and efficiencies as billion-dollar corporations. Now based in Nampa, Idaho, but soon relocating to Honolulu, Hawaii, Edward draws on over ten years in business, including scaling a window washing company from zero to $20,000 a month and helping grow a direct-to-consumer manufacturing firm from $10,000 to $90,000 in monthly revenue. He’s also built and led teams ranging from sales and manufacturing to customer support.

Edward’s journey into automation began as he witnessed firsthand how small businesses struggle without efficient systems. While big companies have the resources to survive inefficiency, smaller businesses can’t afford that luxury. He believes that by introducing the right technology and automations, tailored to each business’s unique workflows, entrepreneurs can focus on their mission rather than drowning in busywork.

At Kaʻala Automation, Edward sets himself apart through an intensely personal, hands-on process. He invests significant time learning the intricacies of each client’s business before suggesting any tech solutions, ensuring the tools he recommends genuinely fit and add value. His guiding principles include excellence without excuses, aligned incentives, and unfiltered honesty. These values define his approach and his determination to help clients build businesses that are efficient, sustainable, and places people love to work.

A driven, creative, and analytical thinker, Edward is originally from Hawaii, where he grew up hiking, camping, and spearfishing. Though his days are now consumed by his mission to help businesses thrive, the same spirit of adventure and precision fuels everything he does.
